Those are both GREAT bikes. Get whichever one you like better. And don't forget to factor in insurance! Insurance on bikes is pretty sick. But, no matter what else you do, I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH: Take a motorcycle riding course! Seriously. First of all, you'll get a break on insurance. Secondly, if you complete the course successfully, you'll usually get a waiver so you don't have to do the riding test at the DMV for your motorcycle license. Also, if you don't know (or know well) how to ride a bike, you'll get a chance to learn on someone else's bike. So if you drop it and scratch it up, no problem! You'll also be able to make a more informed decision about what bike to get. The instructors will probably be pretty knowledgable about bikes, and should be able to give you the pros and cons of the Triumph and the ZX-9. The Motorcycle Safety Foundation gives good courses. You can find out info about a local one to you by hitting the MSF website, [ http://www.msf-usa.org. ] -Ben
